Between 1948 and 1952 three to four Lagonda, including one "Drophead Coupe", Cabriolet version were produced each week.
The first chassis number was LAG 48/1, whereby the number 48 stands for the year of production and the 1 stands for the first car to be manufactured in this series.
In 1949 the cars with the chassis numbers LAG 49/13 to 49/74 were built, of which 15 were Drophead Coupes.
The model which is now for sale bears the chassis number LAG 49/35.
Mr. Frank Feeley designed the beautifully curved chassis, the "Gothic Archwing".
The sporty
6-cylinder engine LB6 (Lagonda Bentley 6-cylinder) was Sir Walter Owen Bentley's masterpiece.
The perfectly synchronised 4-speed gearbox was produced by David Brown & Sons.
This luxurious, hand-built car was sold for the price of SFr. 52'000 in 1949.
The purchasing value of the Swiss-Franc, the British-Pound and the US-Dollar buying value was 1949 ten times higher than today.

1982-92 The vehicle was completely restored during these 10 years, which took over 6'000 hours.

This veteran car is in outstanding original condition.
The interior wooden frame has been restored, using ash as in 1949, and has been treated to prevent mildew and dry-rot.
The supporting metal chassis is rust-free and has been newly primed and painted.
The aluminium bodywork is free of corrosion and has also been specially primed and painted.
The suspension and all of the screws, nuts, washers, and fastenings have been galvanised with nickel and chrome.
The 6-cylinder motor, the 4-speed gearbox, the hypoid-bevel unit, the transmission, the steering, the breaks, the shock absorbers and even the 4 jacks, have been completely overhauled.
The entire interior has been refinished with material of the highest quality and the easy to operate roof is in perfect condition.

In a nutshell, this veteran car is in such superb original condition, it can be compared with no other.
In May 1996 the car passed the Swiss road inspection as a veteran car.
